The Fort Belvoir United States Army installation and a census-designated place (CDP) located in Fairfax County, Virginia, is the largest employer in Fairfax County.  Built in 1917, Fort Belvoir was originally the home for the Army Engineer School but now houses a number of key United States military organizations including the Defense Logistics Agency, the Defense Acquisition University, the Defense Contract Audit Agency, the Defense Technical Information Center, the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command, the United States Army Military Intelligence Readiness Command, the Missile Defense Agency, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, all agencies of the United States Department of Defense.

Located near I95, Fort Belvoir is a short trip to Tysons Corner and Washington D.C.  Fort Belvoir is located near many large towns and communities including but not limited to Herdon, Vienna, Reston and McLean Virginia.
